1 1/3 cup all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 (14oz) can Magnolia Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 teaspoons orange peel, about 1 large orange
Yellow or orange vegetable color (optional)
instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease mini loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl whisk together the dry ingredients, flour, baking powder and salt.
- Using a mixer, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition.
- Add sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, almond extract, and orange peel.
- If you want to use the vegetable coloring this is the time to add it. Add just a couple of drops to give the batter a nice orange color.
- Mix until combined scraping down the sides of the bowl if needed.
- Pour the batter into the eight cavities of the mini loaf pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Let cool for about 10 minutes before removing from pan.
